The Wisconsin Legislature's Joint Finance Committee on Thursday approved a plan to spend $52 million in proceeds obtained from tribal casinos.

Gaming tribes pay 3 percent of their revenues to the state. The Legislature can do what it likes with the funds, although the Governor is supposed to make an effort to submit a budget that redirects the money to tribal communities, neighboring areas, econonic development, and tourism.
