A special committee of federal judges is recommending that the federal court system keep a computer software program that monitors viewing music, video, pornography and other Internet sites.

Some judges on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, however, are opposing the program, citing an intrustion into their privacy. In May, they shut down the software.

The Judicial Conference of the United States, which has final say over the federal judicial brnach, will vote next month on the recommendation.
