The Mohegan Tribe of Connecticut is in a bidding war with a California developer over land in Montville, The New London Day reports.

Over the past two months, the tribe has purchased more than 130 acres of land. The total purchase price for the parcels is put at $5.2 million.

The paper says the tribe has paid above market value for the properties. Hackman Capital Properties LLC, a developer based in Los Angeles, has also purchased property but none of the values are disclosed.
