Tribal chairman finds running for governor easy
Tuesday, September 2, 2003

There's only one Native American running in California's recall election. David "Laughing Horse" Robinson says being chairman of the Kawaiisu Tribe is harder.

"This running for governor, I find it to be easy!" he tells The Washington Post. "I have taken so many beatings from the tribe it's unbelievable."

The Kawaiisu Tribe was terminated in 1958 but its status has not been restored.
