A subsidiary of Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corp., an Alaska Native village corporation in Barrow, has purchased a controlling interest of 51 percent in an oil services firm.

The purchase allows Emerald Consulting Group to qualify for small business and minority contracts. The area has been especially lucrative for Alaska Native-controlled firms.
