Non-Indians air concerns about Tulalip Tribes rules
Monday, December 15, 2003

Non-Indians on the Tulalip Reservation are attending meetings to discuss the tribes proposed shoreline regulations.

The process got off to a rocky start because non-Indians say they weren't consulted in the development of the rules. But there has been more positive discussion in recent meetings, tribal officials said.

The tribe wants to protect tidelines and fish runs on the reservation. Some non-Indians are concerned they will be subject to tribal jurisdiction.
