MAY 18, 2000

It's been a year since the Makah Nation of Washington hunted their first gray whale in over 70 years. Students at the Neah Bay School in Neah Bay, Washington, continue to preserve the memory of the whale hunt as they re-construct the skeleton of the whale killed last year. The students are about halfway through their project and will suspend their creation from the ceiling of the Makah Museum upon completion.
