JUNE 18, 2001 A line formed outside the door of Santa Clara Pueblo's casino an hour before it opened on Friday, reports the Albuquerque Journal Almost every one of 350 slot machines was occupied, said the paper. Equally crowded was the casino's bar. The Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana is partners with the Pueblo on the casino, located in Española in northern New Mexico. Three other Pueblo casinos are located nearby. The casino hasn't been inspected by the state, which is required under its gaming compact. The tribe says the casino building meets all state standards.
