Native performers slated at Olympics

TUESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2002 Walela and Robbie Robertson will be joining Sting, Lee Ann Rimes, the Dixie Chicks and a host of others for the Opening Ceremony at the Winter 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Walela, the Cherokee trio of Rita Coolidge and family, and Robertson, of Mohawk descent, will take the stage February 8. Organizers made public the full lineup for the event yesterday after NBC, television hosts of the games, said Sting would be performing. Get the Story:
