Only one school attends mascot meeting

MAY 22, 2001 An attempt to invite a number of South Dakota schools with Indian mascots to a discussion apparently failed as only one showed up to a meeting held in Huron on Monday. Meeting organizer Betty Gross, director of the Minority Resource Center in Watertown, invited 12 schools to the meeting. Only one showed up but Gross said she hopes more will attend a June 18 meeting. Get the Story:
