Cuomo to dedicate Pine Ridge center
AUGUST 3, 2000

US Housing and Urban Development Secretary Andrew Cuomo will dedicate the SuAnne Big Crow Boys and Girls Club Youth Wellness and Opportunity Center today on the Oglala Lakota Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota today.

The center is named for SuAnne Big Crow, a Pine Ridge High School basketball star who was killed in car accident eight years ago. Ian Frazier, in his book On the Rez, spends a considerable portion writing about her and her legacy.

That legacy will be continued by the 30,000-square-foot center. It features game rooms, lounges, a snack bar, and a room dedicated to Big Crow.
