JUNE 21, 2001

A spokesperson for the Department of Interior said the Osage Nation of Oklahoma will most likely share in the government's portion of a $25 million oil royalty settlement fund.

The settlement comes from a lawsuit filed against Koch Industries for claims the company stole oil from federal and Osage land. Of the $25 million, $17 million will go to the Interior.

The tribe has filed a $2.4 billion lawsuit against the Interior for mismanagement of their oil royalties.
