Wadena's challenge to White Earth election rejected

A challenge to the recent election of Erma Vizenor as chairwoman of the White Earth Ojibwe Tribe of Minnesota has been rejected.

Darrell "Chip" Wadena, the tribe's former chairman, claimed the June 8 election he lost was rife with fraud and abuse. But he failed to provide any evidence, according to news reports.

Vizenor won 60 percent of the vote in the election. Wadena served prison time for stealing from the tribe.
