The Oneida Nation of New York is running a television ad criticizing a land claim settlement that will allow an out-of-state tribe to build a casino.

The ad says the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe will use the casino to "take profits back to Oklahoma" and that the deal will end up "hurting New Yorkers." The tribe says the settlement sets a bad precedent.

A spokesperson for Gov. George Pataki (R) called the ad "misleading" and said the Oneidas "should be ashamed of themselves." The state says taxes and revenues on the Seneca-Cayuga casino will benefit the state.
