The chairman of the Republican National Committee toured Santa Fe Indian School in New Mexico on Tuesday.

Ed Gillespie credited the Bush administration with $38 million the school received for a construction project. The school, which is owned by 19 Pueblos, has been on the Bureau of Indian Affairs' priority construction list since the Clinton administration.

Gillespie said the fiscal year 2005 budget will include $300 million for new schools. The actual figure is $229.1 million. Overall, education programs are being cut by $79 million.
