Probe of Innu community's finances rejected

The Canadian government's Indian affairs minister said he won't call for an investigation into the finances of a troubled Innu Nation community in Labrador.

A recent audit showed that $3 million has gone missing. But Andy Scott said it would be up to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to investigate allegations of wrongdoing.

The government has poured $350 million dollars into the Natuashish community. Critics, including some tribal members, say the council has wasted the money.
