Art show experts to weed out fake Native goods

The very first Indian Art Roadshow takes place this weekend at the Rawhide Western Town near Phoenix, Arizona.

Modeled after the popular PBS program Antiques Roadshow, art experts will evaluate and appraise crafts brought in by attendees. The goal is to weed out fakes and cheap knockoffs.

The show is the work of the New Mexico-based Council for Indigenous Arts and Cultures. The council wants to make sure Native artists are not being cheated by fake goods.
