Panther moved at request of Miccosukee Tribe dies

A young panther that was relocated at the request of the Miccosukee Tribe of Florida has been found dead, killed by another panther.

State and federal officials removed the panther last May when the animal was 11 months old. The panther posed a safety threat to tribal members and could have disrupted a sacred ceremony because it would not leave a religious site.

Conservationists feared that moving the panther at such a young age could lead to its death.
