Lower Brule Sioux Tribe awarded cleanup grant


The Lower Brule Sioux Tribe of South Dakota has been awarded a $385,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to clean up unauthorized dump sites on the reservation.

The tribe will use the money to clean ditches, clear abandoned vehicles and contain trash.

The grant was awarded through the South Dakota office of the USDA Rural Development program.
