A court hearing on the impeachment of Cecelia Fire Thunder as president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe has been delayed.

The hearing, originally set for this Friday, was postponed after the judge recused herself. A new judge is being assigned to the case.

Fire Thunder says the tribal council didn't follow proper procedure when it voted 9-5 to impeach her. But her opponents consider the issue settled and have named Alex White Plume as president and Eileen Janis as vice president.
