Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas tribes form new group

Tribes in Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas have formed a new organization to advance their political positions.

The United Indian Nations of Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas met on Thursday to elect officers. But a low turnout delayed selection of leaders until October 24.

The organization is open to all tribes in the three states. Tribal leaders hope to make an impact on political issues locally and nationwide.
