Navajo soldier loses arm in explosion in Iraq

Army Spc. Alroy Billiman, a member of the Navajo Nation, lost his right arm after nearly losing his life in a roadside explosion in Iraq.

Billiman, 27, was transporting goods from Jordan to Iraq when the bomb exploded. His right arm had to be amputated and his right leg was badly injured.

Family and friends have supported Billiman as he recovers from his surgeries. He will be fitted with a prosthetic arm.

Billiman has a wife, Katara, 23, and a 1-year-old daughter.
