Pauma Band bans nine amid heightened security

The Pauma Band of Mission Indians banned nine people from the reservation and is taking extra security measures in light of recent violence on the Rincon Reservation.

The nine people won't be allowed back on the reservation unless tribal members vote them back in. The North County Times said some of the banned people are residents of nearby reservations, including Rincon, where three men were killed earlier this month.

In addition to the bans, the tribe hired extra security to screen visitors and patrol the reservation.
