Port Gamble SíKlallam Tribe opens elders center

The Port Gamble SíKlallam Tribe of Washington celebrated the opening of its new elders center last Friday.

The center is located within the House of Knowledge campus. The 3,775-square-foot building features a full-size kitchen, restrooms, an office, a lounge and a gathering room.

In addition to the elders center, the $4.2 million House of Knowledge complex includes a longhouse, education and career center. The tribe will start work on a library later this year.
