Kickapoo women accused of takeover on hold again

Four Kickapoo women who are accused of trespassing and burglary for participating in a takeover of the tribal headquarters face another delay in their trial.

Kickapoo tribal members were informed they were being called for a jury pool. But the tribal judge canceled the trial, saying Auchee Wahpepah, Juanita Prado, Valentina Jimenez and Glenda Deer failed to ask for a jury and failed to pay a jury fee.

The women never received notice of the requirements, their lawyer said.
