Facing a housing crunch of its own, the Seminole Tribe of Florida has told residents of a mobile home park to leave by the end of the year.
The tribe bought the Stirling Road Mobile Home Park for $6.9 million. The land will be used to provide housing for members who have been on a long waiting list.
But the 150 current residents at the park will have to leave by December 1. The tribe is offering to pay standard rates for mobile homes and forego outstanding mortgages but the low-income residents say they have few choices for affordable housing.
