Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe to hold new elections

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe of Nevada has called new elections after two violations were found in the last vote.

In the first error, a tribal member who was ineligible to vote was allowed to cast a ballot, chairman Norm Harry said. The person was a candidate for tribal council.

In the second error, an incumbent council member who was running for re-election also sat on the election board.

The new elections will be held in March. Harry, who had lost to December 30 vote to Mervin Wright Jr., plans to run again.
