Rosebud Sioux Tribe marks Native HIV/AIDS Day

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota marked the first annual National Native HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on Wednesday.

The day started with a march in the morning. Tribal students heard from Robert Moore, whose brother White Eagle died of complications from AIDS in 1995.

"My brother, White Eagle, lived for a day like today," he told students at Todd County High School, The Sioux Falls Argus Leader reported.

The tribe hosted a basketball tournament. The entry fee was a free HIV test administered by the state Health Department.
