Oglala Sioux officers on leave after shootings
Two police officers for the Oglala Sioux Tribe of South Dakota are on administrative leave following two shooting incidents on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

An unidentified officer shot and killed a 27-year-old man on Wednesday morning. No one nearby to offer backup to the officer, the tribal police chief said.

Earlier this month, officer DaDrea Rabeler shot and wounded a man after he allegedly tried to attack her. Robert Little, 25, has been indicted in federal court on assault charges.

At a Senate Indian Affairs Committee yesterday, tribal council member John Mousseau said Rabeler was attacked on the job last year. He said Rabeler and her family have been threatened by gangs on the reservation.
