Osage Nation asks Supreme Court to review reservation case
The Osage Nation of Oklahoma will ask the U.S. Supreme Court to hear a case over the status of its reservation, recently elected Chief John Red Eagle said.

Congress created the reservation in 1872. When Oklahoma became a state Osage County encompassed the entire boundaries of the reservation.

But the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals said Congress diminished the reservation in 1906. The tribe says the court got the decision wrong.

The tribe's petition is due by October 22.
