Indian Democrats in Wisconsin challenging recall signatures

Indian Democrats in Wisconsin are challenging more than 400 signatures on a petition to recall state Sen. Jim Holperin (D).

The signatures were collected on the Menominee Nation, which is part of Hoperin's district. Democrats say Indian voters were misled about nature of the petition.

“Nobody bothered to read the petition, and we are by and large, overwhelmingly Democrat up there, and they just signed the paper," Diana Miller, the chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s American Indian Caucus, told Wisconsin Public Radio.
