Crow Tribe planning to take over shelter operation from Red Cross

The Crow Tribe is preparing to take over operation of a shelter that was set up by the American Red Cross of Montana.

The Red Cross set up the shelter in Billings, off the reservation, when flooding hit. At one point, more than 300 tribal members were staying there.

The shelter was moved to the reservation and most people have left. But, 42 days later, there are still 30 people in need of housing, The Billings Gazette reported.

The Red Cross only operates on a temporary basis so the tribe will be taking over.
