Investigation continues into death of child on Spirit Lake Nation

Federal authorities continue to investigate the death of a two-month-old infant on the Spirit Lake Dakotah Nation in North Dakota.

Debra Kay Anderson-Dogskin was found dead on July 7. The Bureau of Indian Affairs and the FBI are still looking into the incident.

“We are awaiting lab test results associated with the investigation," Timothy Purdon, the U.S. Attorney for North Dakota, told The Grand Forks Herald. An autopsy was recently conducted.

In May 2011, two children -- a brother and sister -- were murdered on the reservation. One man has been charged in connection with their deaths.
