Letter: Rep. Noem disrespectful at House Indian Affairs hearing

"I have viewed a portion of the July 25 hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Natural Resources Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs on which Rep. Kristi Noem serves.

Michael Black, director of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, testified at the hearing. Black is a member of South Dakota’s Oglala Sioux Tribe and a former Aberdeen resident who served as director of the Aberdeen Area BIA.

At the conclusion of Black’s testimony, Subcommittee Chairman Don Young (R-Alaska) asked for questions/comments from committee members. Calling on Noem, he received no response. In fact, she waved him off."
