Johnny Depp as Tonto speaks in broken English in 'Lone Ranger'

The trailer for The Lone Ranger hit the Internet today and it features actor Johnny Depp, who plays "Tonto," speaking in broken English.

"There come a time, kemosabe, when good man must wear mask," Tonto tells the Lone Ranger, played by Arnie Hammer

The trailer confirms that Tonto wears the infamous "bird headdress" throughout most, if not the entire, production. Even when the character is engaged in an action scene, Depp can be seen in full makeup.

Parts of the film were shot on the Navajo Nation and Laguna Pueblo and the reservation landscape can be seen in the trailer. The movie is due for release on July 3, 2013.

Depp, who has claimed Indian ancestry, was adopted by a Comanche Nation family. He recently appeared as grand marshal in the Comanche Nation fair.
