Chevron refuses to pay $18.7B judgement to tribe in Ecuador





The Cofan people of Ecuador are trying to collect an $18.7 billion judgment they won against Chevron.

The tribe blamed Texaco Petroleum Co. for pollution on its ancestral land. But Chevron, which acquired Texaco, is refusing to pay.

So Cofan lawyers are moving to seize $2 billion of Chevron's assets in Argentina.
