Blackfeet men enter pleas in game hunts for country musicians

Three members of the Blackfeet Nation of Montana entered guilty pleas for organizing big-game hunts with country music stars.

Jay St. Goddard, Jay Wells and Gayle Skunkcap Jr. admitted they didn't obtain licenses for the hunts. They each pleaded guilty to charges of illegal sale of wildlife and theft from a tribal government receiving federal funding.

The hunts occurred in 2010 and 2011. Participants included country singers Josh Thompson and Justin Moore and the hunt with Thompson was filmed by a television crew for The Sovereign Sportsman.

St. Goddard and Wells are former council members. Skunkcap is the former director of the tribe's Fish and Game Department.
