The Crow Tribe of Montana has put more than 300 employees on furlough due to the shutdown of the federal government.

The suspended works represent about half of the tribe's workforce. Several programs were also put on hold indefinitely.

"We're taking a proactive approach," Chairman Darrin Old Coyote told the Associated Press.
