Osage Nation heads to polls to choose chief and assistant chief

Members of the Osage Nation of Oklahoma are voting today to choose a new chief, assistant chief and other leaders.

Margo Gray and Geoffrey Standing Bear are running for principal chief. The winner succeeds John D. Red Eagle, who was impeached in January.

Amanda Proctor and Raymond Red Corn are running for assistant chief. Incumbent Six seats on the Osage Nation Congress and all eight seats on the Osage Minerals Council are also up for grabs.
