Ponca Tribe wants land taken into trust

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is waiting for the Bureau of Indian Affairs to take land into trust.

The tribe wants to use a former bar and grill as a bingo hall. The Omaha World-Herald does not report the acreage involved.

The Ponca Tribe was restored federal status after being terminated. Its tribal headquarters is in Niobrara.
