JANUARY 17, 2001 In preparation of her confirmation hearing on Thursday, Republican National Committee chairman Jim Nicholson is calling on party members to contact Senators and express their support for Secretary of Interior nominee Gale Norton. Fellow Coloradan Senator Wayne Allard (R) said he has spoken with most of the Republican Senators and said they will vote to confirm Norton. He also says he hasn't received as much reponse to Norton as he has to John Ashcroft, Attorney General nominee. Get the Story:
