Aquash finally laid to rest on home reserve

Slain American Indian Movement activist Anna Mae Pictou Aquash was reburied on Monday on her home reserve in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Aquash's return home was delayed due to a court challenge by one of her accused murderers. But after a doctor said no DNA evidence related to an alleged rape could be found on her body, the challenge was withdrawn.

Aquash was murdered on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. One man, Arlo Looking Cloud, has been convicted of her murder. Another man, John Graham, is awaiting extradition from Canada to the U.S. to stand trial.
