A man from the Crow Reservation in Montana pleaded guilty in a scheme to help ex-Crow chairman Clifford G. Bird in Ground's legal defense.

Harvest Dawn White, 30, admitted billing the tribe for $8,200 welding work. When he was paid, he passed the money to a co-defendant, who then gave it to Bird in Ground.

Bird in Ground pleaded guilty on corruption, theft and bribery charges. He remains free pending an appeal of his case. He claims his limited knowledge of English prevented him from understanding his plea deal.
