Vizenor finally sworn in as White Earth Band chair

The White Earth Band of Ojibwe in Minnesota swore in its first female chair on Tuesday.

Erma Vizenor said her top priority was reforming the tribal constitution. She also plans to combat high unemployment, homelessness, hunger and poverty.

Vizenor defeated Darrell "Chip" Wadena last month with 59 percent of the vote. Wadena raised challenges to the election but was rejected twice.
