Tribal judge orders arrest of disgraced developer

A businessman at the center of a $8.5 million failed housing deal was ordered arrested by a judge on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in North and South Dakota.

Gary Minard is accused of defrauding the tribe over the remodeling of a housing development. Tribal members and officials say his construction work was shoddy and that he failed to account for his spending of tribal funds.

A tribal judge eventually convicted Minard of fraudulently obtaining financing and held him in contempt of court. Authorities in North Dakota say they arrest him until the Bureau of Indian Affairs can pick him up.
