Native activists will hold a march on Saturday to call for the end of liquor sales in the reservation border town of Whiteclay, Nebraska.

The march will start on the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. It will mark the anniversary of the unsolved 1999 deaths of two Lakota men.

At the march, 15 state lawmakers will deliver a letter to Oglala Sioux Tribe leaders calling on the state of Nebraska to do more to address the issue. The state has been accused of not enforcing liquor laws in the town of 14, whose liquor establishments sell more than 4.5 million cans of beer.

Rep. Tom Osborne (R-Nebraska) is trying to secure a $100,000 appropriation to fund law enforcement patrols by the tribe. Rep. Stephanie Herseth (D-South Dakota) is helping the effort.
