The Hualapai Tribe of Arizona plans to challenge the Grand Canyon's new Colorado River Management Plan.

Chairman Charlie Vaughn says it is unclear that the National Park Service has the authority to impose the plan on the tribe. The tribe and NPS have disputed the boundary line of the reservation, which lies along the Colorado River

The plan limits the tribe's tourism operation. The tribe will only be allowed to carry 600 passengers in boat tours on its portion of the river. The tribe had sought a maximum of 960 passengers.
