San Manuel Band breaks ground on new village

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians held a groundbreaking for its new development project on December 7.

San Manuel Village is a mixed-use real estate development in Highland, California. The project includes a 110-room Hampton Inn & Suites hotel, restaurants, retail commercial space and office space.

The village is part of the tribe's effort at economic diversification. The grand opening is expected in late 2007.
