Blackfeet Nation to receive FEMA disaster training

The Blackfeet Nation of Montana will receive disaster training from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

About 500 tribal members will be trained as temporary disaster workers. This allows them to be called up by FEMA whenever a disaster occurs.

Blackfeet workers have already been called to duty for Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita. About 500 were sent to the Gulf Coast and some are still in the region aiding hurricane victims.
