Letter: Get the federal government out of tribal affairs

"Why is the Interior Department managing more than 50 million acres of land that belongs to American Indian tribes.

Among the tribes there are accountants and lawyers who are perfectly capable of, and probably more honest at, handling the various farming, logging and oil interests of the tribal lands. Haven't we done enough to these people?

This is the 21st century. Get the government out of their lives and let them manage their own affairs."
